FROM THE MINISTER OF STATE
21st August, 1967.
CPG
I am replying to your letter of the 28th July, with which you enclosed a letter from one of your constituents, Mrs. Olive Lewis.
Your letter has, to some extent, now been overtaken by events and you will no doubt have seen in the newspapers here that the llong Kong Government have recently taken action to deal with certain sections of the Communist Press.
The whole question of the activities of the Communist Press in Hong Kong has been the subject of consultation between the Hong Kong Government and this office and I can assure you that the matter is well in hand.
I return the enclosures to your letter.
