For health reasons Mr. Tyrer is unable
to return to llong Kong, and has sought permission to retire from the public service. The Secretary of State has in the circumstances given his approval to Mr. Tyrer's retirement. But Mr. Tyrer has agreed to serve in an advisory capacity in the Commonwealth Office for the next few months, in order that his knowledge and experience may
continue to be available to the Secretary of State during this period.
