Exhibit 'A'). Part of S/Sgt. CHU Leung's duties was to check on
the behaviour of surveillance agents engaged in field operations. In his capacity as supervisor of such duties, he would be in a
position to know of addresses which were under surveillance.
He
also normally made reports on his checking of agents quoting the location where agents were checked by him. S/Sgt. CHU Leung never at any time reported to me the presence of Kuomingtang Intelligence
Agents in the Colony.
No cross examination by S/Sgt. CHU Leung.
Question by ACP/K. Would S/Sgt. CHU Leung know of persons who were
under surveillance?

On 16th November, 1961 at the office of the Director of Special Branch at Police Headquarters, I saw S/Sgt. CHU Leung (identified) together with Mr. CHAN Hon Yin, Class I Interpreter
and Translator, who acted as interpreter in the Cantonese dialect.
I was making enquiries at that time into a possible leakage of
information from Special Branch. At this meeting I showed the accused 5 (five) photographs of C/Ms (untered as Exhibit 'B'),
namely
YAM Sai Ping and Mr. X. The S/Sgt. CHU Leung denied knowing any of these people. I informed the S/Sgt. of the names of these people. He
again emphatically denied knowing any of them except Mr. X.
CHEUNG Fu Yam,
He said he remembered knowing a man Mr. X who was formerly employed
in the Y Department of the Hong Kong Government, but that he had
not seen Mr. X since pre-war.
Following an identification parade held at Chatham Road Compound on 17th November, 1961, I again saw S/Sgt. CHU Leung with
Mr. CHAN Hon Yin present as interpreter in the Cantonese dialect. At this meeting I asked S/Sgt. CHU Leung if he could identify the
