Dean Thamaran,

I think it right that you personally should be aware of the situation in the case involving Chu Leung, which I raised with your last predecessor but three 18 months ago. I have heard nothing since George Thomas gave me a written answer on the 7th November 1967. I really do consider that it is high time that this case was dealt with. It is only because I have no wish to embarrass the Hong Kong Government in the very difficult situation which they have been facing that I have refrained from creating a row in the Press.
