the political repercussions are likely to be felt not only here but also in Peking, with its being suggested that this favourable tretment of a 'Taiwan agent' is a provocative act by the Hong Kong Government just at this time; the political repercussions here are, of course, the propaganda use which will be made of this by the communist press and also the serious effects which may result to the morale of the Police Force.
