Dear Land Shepland,

I find I have not had even an acknowledgment of my letter of 1st August and I enclose a copy in case the original went astray.

The time is approaching when, unless you can convince me to the contrary, I shall feel obliged to try to interest one or two journalists in the case. I consider that I have been most shabbily treated by successive Ministers first in the Colonial Office and then in your Department. It is now virtually two years since I first took up this case with Fred Lee and I am not one whit the wiser as to the circumstances surrounding it or for the reasons for the original dismissal. I do not believe that this is the right way to treat a responsible and serious enquiry from an M.P. and I have a suspicion that neither will the

newspapers.
