Governor of Hong Kong has assured me that

(a). an appointment of a United Kingdom Informati on

Officer would be beneficial to United Kingdom - prospects

(b) that, he would not oppose such an appointment. Indeed, I formed the impression that he would welcome it.

I also had detailed discussion with Hong Kong Information Officer, Mr. Watt. It is clear to me that he would welcome and gladly cooperate with United Kingdom Information Officer and might be prepared to offer space if needed.
