L.I.C. report for December, 1966, paragraph 6 refers) at which they were taught quotations from the works of MAO and revolutionary songs. They protested against the number of sessions they were required to attend and the communist authorities agreed to allow them to attend only one a month in future.

As a result of the agreement reached between the authorities in Macau and the C. P.G. (L.I.C. External Intelligence Report for January, 1967, paragraph 3 refers) all K. M. T. activities have been prohibited in Macau. Although some K. M. T. flags have been flown from time to time all have been removed by the authorities. Up to February 23rd, twenty-two illegal immigrants in all had been returned from Macau to China. least nine prominent K. M. T. personalitics have returned to Taiwan through Hong Kong; each was in possession of a legal travel document. Conditions in Macau appear on the surface to be returning to normal and prosperity has returned with the visit of thousands of Hong Kong residents over the Lunar New Year.

The flow of illegal immigrants continues without bignificant change. The continuing lack of people coming forward to fill the quote of 50 a day that the Hong Kong Government is prepared to allow in, as in effect legal immigrants, suggests that onc result of the disruption of the administration in China (and in particular of the normal functioning of Public Security bureaux) has been a general clamp down on the issue of permits for visits to Hong Kong. There is no indication of any relaxation in border controls.
