b. The existing agreement with the Army concerning the use of the Port Sheltor armament range would have to be re-negotiated, and slightly extended in scope.

No additional navigation aids would have to be provided at Hong Kong for a Hunter unit.

A Hunter simulator is desirable but not an operational necessity at Kai Tak.

e. Hunter flying training would generally be limited to the mornings because of local weather and airport traffic density.

I. The existing arrangement with the Army to store a portion of RAF explosives in the ordnance depots will have to be re-negotiated to provide for increased holdings. (Safety factors preclude any increase of holdings at RAF Kai Tak.)

Nose Cones and F95 cameras should be provided to meet possible UK requirements for low-level oblique photography as a service to JARIC. equipments for such a requirement are not included at Appendix 2.

56. It is considered that if a Hunter unit is established at Hong Kong:

The number plate should be "No 209 (Hong Kong) Squadron."

It should be under the full command of Officer Commanding Royal Air Force Kai Tak.

Either Scheme A or Scheme B would meet the particular requirements expressed by the Governor.

d.

Scheme B is preferable to Scheme A since it would be less complicated (undivided servicing responsibility), would not involve the recruitment and training of HKAAF personnel, and would be able to call upon the extensive resources of HAEC for both first and second line servicing.

0. It would be prudent, if Scheme B were adopted, to have a plan for the emergency re-inforcement of the servicing flight.
