Report by the Defence Policy Staff
1. In accordance with the instructions (1) of the Chief of the Defence Staff, the Defence Policy Staff has examined the impact upon the Hong Kong garrison of the withdrawal of forces from Malaysia and Singapore.
2.
The Foreign Office, the Commonwealth Office, and the Defence Secretariat have been consulted.
Recommendation
3.
We recommend that, if they approve our report, the Chiefs of Staff should forward it to the Secretary of State as an expression of their views.
