Long Term Costings.

14. If unaccompanied troops were to relieve the Gurkhas in the

mid-70s, there would be considerable saving in the provision

of married quarters, schools and amenities in Hong Kong (£m51).

These savings would have to be off-set against the cost of the

provision of quarters in the United Kingdom, (£m2), and the cost

of the additional backing units which could be of the order of

£m21.
