You will see from the attached that the
P.U.S. has written to the F.0. and M.O.D. as
proposed.
2. I am going on leave tonight. In view of
the extreme sensitivity of this subject may I
return these papers to you? It seems to me that
for the time being, at any rate they might best
be kept with the papers dealing substantively
with the evacuation problem.
3. I am sending a copy of this minute to
Mr. MacInnes, and would be grateful if he would
note the above as it affects the handling of
any replies to the P.U.S.'s letter. I have not
said anything on this subject to the Head of
News Department.
