Emergency Food Supplies
We attach a Note of the meeting referred
to in subparagraph (b) of our telegran. Some of the information we collected may be well known to you
already, but we found the meeting useful. Vesty's operate in Hong Kong under the title Hong Kong Refrigerating Company (941, King's Road, P.O. Box 291), and have world wide meat trade interests and connections.
2.
The question of tinned meat is still under consideration by the Ministry who have been asked to let us know what types of meat could be supplied and how much, how much notice would be necessary, what the cost would be, and also whether any special shipping arrangements would be necessary. We understand that there are financial/accounting problems involved in the proposition but that these should not be insurmountable.
