The undertaking about the continuation of the

existing licensing arrangements for processed milk is, in our opinion covered by the terms of paragraph 4 of our draft Agreed Minute and could therefore be omitted, The undertaking to consult if bilateral quotas are reimposed has been retained in (a) of the draft Exchange of Letters.

The references to jute importe into the United

Kingdom in the 1966 Agreed Minute are now some what out of date and might, we suggest, be omitted. The undertaking concerning the 110- ensing of imports of jute yarn is in our opinion covered by paragraph 4 of our draft Agreed Minute.

We have somewhat altered the reference to the

Bacon Understanding to take account of the fact that only the Netherlands is a partici- pating country.

In view of the forthcoming introduction of the

common market in sugar, we do not propose further references to the Belgian Sugar queta,

Perhaps when you are ready to do m we could discuss the arrangements for the meeting suggested in your letter of 29th August. I understand that it would suit you if this were held in the latter part of November; this timing would be acceptable to us.
