--epresentatives of the denelux Governments and the Hong Kong Government met in Brussels on 24th and 25th November for consultations on Hong Kong's exports of cotton woven shirts to the denelux countries following the request in our aide memoire of 21st October 1906, under paragraph 6 of article 3 of the Long Term Arrangement regarding inter- national trade in cotton textiles.

Following these consultations, I am authorised to inform you that the liong Kong Government undertake to implement the provisions recorded in the annex to this letter in respect of exports of 1-

of long long origin to the Benelux countries.

i am further authorised to confirm that, should the need arise for the Benelux and hong kong Goverments to consult with respect to Hong Kong's export of other commodities to the Benelux countries, the Bong Kong Government will not insist that these arrangements for the trade in cotton voven shirts should be treated as a precedent. This confirmation should, of course, in no way be taken to limit long Long's rights under the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, the Long Term Arrangement or any other relevant agreements, to which the Benelux Governments or the United Kingdom Government on behalf of Hong Kong are signatories.
