I was present at a meeting held at 0.D.M. on the 11th. October last year, attended by:--
Mr. P. Canham, Mr. W. Woodhouse,
Mr. G.G. Pullen,
O.D.M.,
O.D.M.,
University College, London, and
Mr. J.A. Prescott, Extramural Department of the
University of Hong Kong,
to discuss the possibility of setting up a School of Planning in Hong Kong, and examine the report prepared by Mr. Pullen following his visit to Hong Kong in August/September 1966 to study this problem.

I do not know what is the present position regarding this. understand that Mr. Canham has since retired.
His successor, Mr. J.R. Watson, of the Universities and Technical Education Department may be able to help you with more up-to-date information.
I think the creation of a School of Planning in Hong Kong would be a good thing, and it might well be used regionally. (At the present time there is a School of Planning in Bandung, Indonesia, and I believe one has recently been set up in the Philippines.) Although there is considerable building activity in Hong Kong, physical planning is rudimentary. A great deal needs, to be done in this field, and the creation of a centre for physical planning education and studies would assist greatly with this.
