I wrote to you on 5 August about the suggestion
put forward by Lieutenant-Commander Lynch Maydon
for a new name for the Hong Kong Police Force.
We have recently heard from the Governor on
this subject and it may be some time before the matter
is resolved. You may therefore wish to let
Lieutenant-Commander Lynch Maydon know that the
matter has not been overlooked. I attach a draft
letter for this purpose.
