Government being asked to arrange their urgent onward movement (Commonwealth Office telegram No. 122 and Hong Kong telegram No.82).

6. We recommend that we should not volunteer to provide any

facilities for military personnel, but should receive any who enter

Hong Kong as proposed by the Governor in paragraph 5 above.

7.

An indentical submission is being made in the Foreign Office

and this submission is also being put to the Secretary of State

for Defence.
