Cradock then reminded Ni of visit applications on the behalf of Selfs, Croziers and Johnstones in Shanghai. Ni made no dir reply, but reiterated need for British to show sincerity in solving Hong Kong questions. Until this was done there would be difficulties in movements of Chinese and British personnel [sic]. Cradock reminded Ni that there were no restrictions on movement of Chinese personnel to or from Britain. We had informed Chinese of this and we kept our word.
