S

According to travellers who have crossed the frontier and been interrogated by the police, a considerable battle took place in the neighbourhood of the railway station at Canton yesterday in which the P.L.A. were engaged and in which there were probably substantial casualties. Fighting appears to have been between rival political groups with the P.L.A. presumably attempting to restore order.
