Committee of 24: Brunei and Hong Kong.
On 23 October Malecela (Chairman) informed the - Special Committee that, owing to lack of time, Sub-Committee II had decided to postpone consideration of Brunei and Hong Kong and had reported to that effect.

Shakhov (U..S.R.) said, regarding Hong Kong, that he wished to reserve his position, since this was a matter relating dirty to the Chinese People's Republic. It was not for the United Nations or any of its bodies to consider this item until such time as the People's Republic of China was represented in the United Nations.

Slowikowski (Poland) likewise reserved his Government's position on Hong Kong, saying that it was of primary interest to the Chinese Feople's Republic and could not be adequately discus. in their absence.

Sabev (Bulgaria) made a similar reservation.
The report of Sub-Committee II will be transmitted to
the General Assembly.
