CONFIDENTIAL

On safety aspects generally, it appears

from U.S. Acting Maritime Administrator's letter

to Gass of 7 March that SAVANNAH has complied with all requirements of Chapter VIII of International Convention on Safety of Life at Sea, 1960. This means that she should produce for Hong Kong authorities a Nuclear Cargo (or Passenger) Ship Safety Certificate when visit takes place. The Convention includes some of the recommendations in Command 958 but you should also be aware of paragraphs 156-164 of the latter document.
