That this Assembly once more affirms its support of the Feed the Minds Campaign and urges upon its member churches the importance of this effort to provide suitable literature for increasingly literate peoples, especially in developing countries.

DRUG ADDICTION

That this Assembly welcomes the much greater activity now being undertaken by Her Majesty's Government to combat the dangerous and rapid increase in drug addiction, especially among young

All possible people, but believes that more needs to be done. steps should be taken to check the illicit trade in dangerous drugs and to provide more adequate facilities for the treatment

The Assembly urges upon its member and cure of addicts. churches the importance of an informed approach to this problem and particularly commends as a basis for clear teaching the articles by Dr. David Stafford-Clark entitled "Drug Dependence", reprinted from "The Times" of 11th and 12th April 1967.

VIETNAM

That this Assembly views with increasing grief the situation in Vietnam and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to continue to exert its fullest' influence to bring the conflicting parties to the conference table.

That this assembly identifies itself with the Policy Statement of the Joint International Department of the British Council of Churches and the Conference of British Missionary Societies dated 11th March 1967, and in particular supports the proposals made by the Secretary-General of the United Nations which this document supports, namely:

The cessation of bombing in North Vietnam Scaling down of military activities in South Vietnam by both sides

Willingness of all parties to the conflict to enter into discussions with those who are actually fighting.

That this Assembly calls upon Her Majesty's Government under no circumstances to sanction the use of British forces in Vietnam.
