FOREIGN OFFICE, S.W.1.
6 February, 1968.
Thank you for sending me a copy of your letter SCR 15/5061/4911 of 25 January to Percy Cradock in Peking about the Wen Wei Pao's treat- ment of Japanese reactions to the visit of the "Enterprise".
2.
We were very interested to see the way in which the paper appears to be changing its propaganda line and would be grateful if you could report any future articles on this subject in case this change of line may presage a new policy which could affect the visits of American nuclear warships to Hong Kong.
3. I am sending a copy of this letter to Michael Wilford in Washington, Percy Cradock in Peking, and Bill Gaminara in the Commonwealth Office (to whom I copied your original letter).
