Your telegram No.210.
U.S. vessels in Hong Kong.
No repair facilities for U.S. ships have ever been asked for or given here. Occasionally a few small U.S. ships such as minesweepers and very occasionally larger ships lie alongside the Naval Base at H.M.S. TAMAR and they may sometimes receive water and electrical supplies on repayment. But they do not receive military material nor bunkering, nor any other services or facilities that could not be described as normal hospitality for foreign warships.
2. There is no (repeat no) truth in the allegation that General Cassels met Admiral Hyland during their recent visits to Hong Kong.
3。 Incidentally, U.S.S. BAINBRIDGE has not accompanied ENTERPRISE on this visit.
(Passed to D.S.A.0. for repetition to Washington)
