Rest and Recreation Visits to Hong Kong

At the end of last week I happen to return home when my son was watching the "Huntley/Brinkley Report" on the television. This is a daily half hour programme of very good standing which comments on topics of general interest. The last ten minutes of the programme that I saw dealt with visits by United States servicemen to Hong Kong for rest and recreation.

3. The visual accompaniment to the text showed American warships anchored in the harbour, sailors going ashore and being taken to the briefing area, troops emerging from aircraft at Kai Tak and wandering around the streets of Hong Kong, in a night club or bar, and so forth.

4. I am sending a copy of this letter and enclosure to Anthony Elliott in Hong Kong and to Donald Hopson in Peking.
