We agree that police and military deserve great credit for effectiveness and success of these operations.

2. Foreign Secretary will be speaking in foreign affairs debate on Thursday and for that purpose it would be helpful to have any further assessment you can make of effect of arrests in relation to paragraph 2 of your telegram No.1012. Please let us know results of screening; also (by 0900 hours B.S.T. 18 July) whether any similar operations are contemplated in immediate future.
