Hong Kong remains quiet. No true bombs and only one false and four hoax reported. Two incidents of stone throwing by children in border are a reported 23 and 25 Jan. In second incident at Lo Wu CCA guards chased children off.

East Malaysia Sabah. Serious floods reported on East Coast of Sabah, said to be worse than those in 1963. Worst area is along Kinabatangan River which runs into sea at Sandakan (GR8254) and is reported 40 feet above normal and still rising. Shell helicopter and one from Royal Brunei Malay Regiment being sent to area in response to request from State Government. No request yet received for U.K. help.
