سلام

Addressed to Commonwealth Office telegram No, 1745 of 23 November

Repeated for information to POLAD Singapore

For Commonwealth Office and Cabinet Office for JIC from LIC.

It is proposed no longer to send a detailed situation report at the end of each week in addition to our weekly summary issued on Mondays. If you see no objection we now plan to send each Thursday morning a brief up-dating commentary on the latter outlining any trends which have developed or become clearer. This will fit in with JIC (FE)'s meeting schedule and should be available for Chairman CIG (Far East) before the JIC (London) meets.

2. The major development this week has been devaluation and the partial revaluation. At this stage it is felt that no worthwhile comment can be made. The first of the up-dating Commentaries will therefore be next week.
