Police searched hillsides in area of San Liu village in Sai Kung today 21 December, resulting in discovery of a shelter believed to be the hideout of a group of local Communist troublemakers.
The hideout was in form of strong canvas tent. It was so well camouflaged with straw and tree branches that it could hardly be noticed by helicopter from the air.
Found in the tent were three powerful homemade gelignite bombs, 21 rounds of live .303 rifle ammunition, 22 ordinary detonators, 12 homemade electric detonators, 7 British Army battle-dress blouses, one stencil and equipment for printing bulletin of the group and some documents together with some samples of the bulletin.
An exploded homemade parachute bomb was also found outside tent.
The search which lasted six hours and ended at 4 p.m. today was conducted by party of nine plain clothes police officers including Superintendent D.J. Bryan, Inspector J. Bagley and Inspector Charles Lee who disguised them- selves as picnickers.
Two young men were found in vicinity during the search and taken to police station for questi oning. are now assisting police in their enquiries.

Two of three gelignite bombs found were later detonated by Army ammunition experts on spot. exploded they blew some covering padding fifty yards up the hillside and caused big hole on ground.
Other gelignite bomb was dismantled and found to have contained gelignite and iron nails.
