I attach a copy of the letter about the

Governorship of Hong Kong which finally issued

to No. 10 on 21 June with the approval of the

Secretary of State.

2. I have omitted from this file copy a sentence

at the end of the letter which included a possible

name as an example of the type of person that

might succeed Sir D. Trench.
