As regards financial, we shall be seeing

Sir John Cowperthwaite in London about the end of this month, and will then get a fairly clear idea where we stand with him. I suggest that your draft be left as it is until then, even though this may carry us over the deadline.

I do not expect that we shall have to add anything to the draft about Hong Kong Basle facility because the Treasury have undertaken to prepare something on that subject them- selves, covering all countries involved.
