The following is an extract from a letter received from
the P.. to the Leader of the House of Commons.
"Mr. Crossman will be speaking on the Motion to fix the dates of the Christmas Adjournment which will be taken next week (probably Tuesday), and has asked for notes on topics which are likely to crise. As you know, it is customary to confine the debate to questions of personal liberty at home or in the Colonies and to the highlights of foreign affairs, although Members can raise almost any subject of current interest if they can relate it to the question whether the House should adjcurn."
We have been asked to prepare notes on any such questions that
come within the Commonwealth Office field of interest.
If
there are any contributions from your Department could they
please reach the Private Office (in duplicate) by close of
play on Thursday 14th December.
