PROVISIONAL BRIEFING ARRANGEMENTS
Note by the Treasury and the Commonwealth Office
The 1967 Meeting of Finance Ministers will be held in Port of Spain on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st September, 1967, shortly before the annual meetings of the IMF and IBRD which are to be held in Rio de Janeiro from 25th to 29th September, 1967. An agenda will be circulated later, but it is expected to follow broadly the lines of last year's.
Allocation of briefs
2. A provisional list of briefs needed, with serial numbers and departmental responsibility, is at Annex A to this note: a revised list will be circulated with the agenda, when known, but there are unlikely to be more than minor changes. Departments are asked to clear briefs inter-departmentally as necessary before circulating them.
Tining
3. Briefs should be circulated by Friday, 1st September.
Form of briefs
4. Briefs should be BRIEF.
5. Their general layout should follow the pattern of C.F.M.(66)5 31 August of 13th September 1966. Each brief should start with a short
summary, in single spacing, which should indicate the relation of the brief to the agenda, and should state whether there are any points the United Kingdom Delegation should raise. The main body of the brief should follow in double spacing, with side headings if appropriate. Speaking notes should be provided, in the form of an annex, in the case of agenda briefs only.
