Disturbances, 1966

I enclose two advance copies of this report information.

The Commission, details of which were

given in my telegram No. 465 of 5th May, 1966, was

appointed on 3rd May, 1966. This report was submitted

to me on 24th December, 1966.

The report is now being studied and will

shortly be submitted to the Executive Council.

Translation into Chinese is in hand and it is intended that the English and Chinese versions should be published simultaneously as soon as the printed versions have been tabled in the Legislative Council. As much priority as possible is being given to translation and printing but it is likely to be mid-March at the earliest before both printed versions are ready for release to the public.

Until then no publicity is being given to So far only a short announcement has been made to the effect that it has been submitted.
