I have the honour to inform you that I have appointed Mr. M.A.R. Young-Herries, M.C., provisionally and subject to Her Majesty's pleasure, to be temporarily an Unofficial Member of the Legislative Council with effect from 3rd June 1967, during the absence from the Colony of Mr. J. Dickson Leach, OBE.

Mr. Herries' previous provisional appointment, approval for which was conveyed in your Despatch No.439 dated 26th April, ceased from 20th May on the return of Mr. G.R. Ross.

Copies of the Instrument of Appointment in respect of Mr. Young-Herries and of the Gazette Notice promulgating his appointment are attached.
