Standard Bank Centre, with a total gross floor area of 575,000 sq.ft. has four tower floors above the highest mechanical floor, a lower ground floor which houses a shopping precinct, and four base- ments below the lower ground floor. Shop-fronts and doors take 3,000 sq.ft. of Armourfloat glass using similar installation principles to the assembly.
Architects for the 32-storey building are Hent- rich, Mallows, Stucke, Harrison, Ritchie & Part- ners. The consulting engineers are Ove Arup & Partners.
Warehouse designed by Tange
Structural and functional elements are combined in a new warehouse of 55,000 sq. ft. which has recently been completed at Yokohama, Japan for the Olivetti Organisation. The warehouse is designed by Professor Kenzo Tange.
An example of his functional planning is that along each end of the building are large structural beams constructed to act as accessways for goods. He also planned an unusual circulation pattern in- volving various coloured floor spaces.

The central section of the development is a two- storey building. Half the first floor consists of a vehicle entry, exit, platforms, temporary and bulk storage areas and guards' office, while the remainder includes a large parking area. On the second floor are regular storage facilities for machines, as well as laboratory, administrative office and night duty
rooms.
