TWO NEW FLYOVERS

one

Two new flyovers are to be built in Hong Kong in Canal Road in the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong Island and the other at the junction of Chatham Road. Princess Margaret Road and Gascoigne Road, one of the busiest intersections of Kowloon. They will form an in- tegral part of the road connections complex on either side of the harbour for the proposed cross-harbour tunnel.

The flyover to be built in Wan Chai will be about 1,100 ft. long with a 22 ft. wide dual carriageway. It will be constructed in prestressed concrete and supported by piled foundations. When completed, it will provide a direct link between the new Waterfront Road and Leighton Road and thus eliminate difficult crossing at ground level of Hennessy Road and Lockhart Road.
