Fook Lee Construction Co. will build a four- storey students hostel for the Jesuit and Maryknoll Sister Orders, costing HK$4 million, while on ad- jacent sites Fook Wah Construction Co. will erect three, four and five-storey college buildings at a cost of HK$9 million. The area is on a hilltop over- looking Tolo Harbour to the north east and the university headquarters to the south west.

Some 250 male and female students will be catered for in the hostel which is a symmetrical building with two interior courtyards. It is due to be completed next autumn.

administration building, a commerce and social science building, library and lecture theatres, staff and students amenities block and a gymnasium.

Recently the University Authorities placed an HK$11.6 million contract with John Lok and Partners for the construction of a science centre to serve all the university colleges. The centre com- prises a prestressed concrete lecture theatre, linked on opposite sides to two parallel rectangular four- and-five-storey blocks containing teaching and re- search laboratories.

The architects and engineers are W. Szeto and Partners.
