WIRING SYSTEM
A multi-outlet track system pro- duced by Courtney, Pope (Electrical) Ltd., Amhurst Park Works, London, N.15, is easy to install and does away with trailing flexes. No channelling of walls is necessary.
The system employs continuous conductors located in a plastic track,

Track and cover strip
which are fed from any fused supply, i.e. 13 amp or 15 amp socket. Three- pin socket outlets are simply clipped on to the track wherever they are re- quired.
The whole length of the track is earthed by an exposed conductor in the centre of the track, while the live and neutral conductors are located behind lips on either side of this con- ductor. A flexible p.v.c. cover strip seals the track between socket outlets.
With the application of a little heat the track can be bent to fit round
corners.
SANDER
A double-insulated 4in. belt sander, the model 5565, has been added to the Wolf range. It is balanced for easy operation and is supplied complete with dust bag and bench clamp.
The armature of the 960 w motor has resin-bonded windings, spot-weld- ed to the commutator bars. The tool operates at a low-load belt speed of
40
1,115 fpm, giving fast stock removal and a very fine finish.
Transmission is via a nylon V-belt. The cork-lined sole-plate has an area of

CURTAIN WALLING
A British development offers archi- tects a complete system of windows and curtain walling with an all-neoprene exterior and all-aluminium interior grid.
Basically it consists of simple alu- minium extruded sections which form the structural grid and provide com plete flexibility of design. The glass or other suitable infill panel is held in place by neoprene gasketry which com- pletely eliminates mastics and provides a waterproof and draughtproof seal and cold bridging effects.
The system is suitable for all types of high and low rise buildings. It can have any number of windows, doors, ventilators or infill panels. A complete range of neoprene-clad ventillators is also available. Louvres or double hung sashes may be incorporated.
The system is maintenance-free, except for window cleaning. The neo- prene exterior requires no treatment.
Astralite Windows, Ltd., Banstead Road, Purley, Surrey, U.K. are the makers.
TIMBER TREATMENT
An organic solvent wood preserva- tive for use on machined timber is being marketed under the name of Dipsar "J". It is claimed to be especial- ly suitable for external joinery and softwood timber and to render the latter more durable since, when correct- ly applied, its components cannot be lost by evaporation or water leaching.
Dipsar contains organotin com- pounds in a penetrating, blended or- ganic solvent and is supplied as a clear solution, in quantities of not less than 40 gal. The manufacturers state that it renders timber safe from attack by wood-destroying fungi and the larvae of anobium beetles. They also say that
treated joinery can be painted as soon as the solvents have evaporated.
Richardson and Starling Ltd., 21 Hyde Street, Winchester Hants., UK, are the makers.
FIXING TOOL
A new labour-saving hand tool rapidly places break-stem rivets in pre- formed holes. Called the Avdel Type 760 riveting tool or Avdel Lazy Tongs, it is suitable for low or medium-volume site fabrication of sheet materials.
The tool is supplied with inter- changeable nose tips for placing 1/8 in., 5/32 in., or 3/16 in. diameter rivets. After being fitted with the correct tip for the rivet being placed, the tong-like section between the nose and handle of the tool is fully extended and the stem of the rivet inserted until its head rests on the nose tip.
The tail of the rivet is then placed in the preformed hole in the workpiece
Avdel Lazy Tongs
and the tong section fully compressed. This draws the tail of the rivet back towards the head, causing the former to expand and thus form a positive, weatherproof fastening. The stem then breaks from the rivet head automati- cally and drops away through the back of the tool.
The makers are Avdel Ltd., Welwyn Garden City, Herts., UK. Agents are Zung Fu, Hong Kong; P. Piya & Co. Ltd., Bangkok; and R. L. Garcia & Co., Makati.
PLASTIC WASTE SYSTEM
Marley Plumbing, Sevenoaks, Kent, UK, have brought out a high tempera- ture white polypropylene 32 mm (1 in.) / 38 mm (11⁄2 in.) waste system which employs ring seal joints.
With the introduction of this system the Marley vinyl 75 mm (3 in.) 100 mm (4 in.) and 150 mm (6 in.) soil pipe system have undergone a complete revision. Boss connections for all three waste materials have been standardised by the introduction of a ring seal push- fit joint to the soil stack.
New boss branches and boss con- nectors are available, including a low cost 'mini' 32 mm (1 in.) or 38 mm (11⁄2 in.) single boss branch with double solvent socket. The three ranges have also been rationalised to reduce the number of components.
