HAVING no projections or hang on one side, the Weller WVW 90 tandem vibrator can work close up to kerbstones, walls and fences, and so obviates finishing with hand tam- pers or vibrating plates.

This German machine can be easily transported from site to site by lorry. It measures 1,960 mm. by 825 mm. by 1,200 mm. high overall, and the front and rear rollers, both 570 mm. in diameter. measure 710 and 690 mm. wide.

Both the mixing drum base and the renewable upper cone are fabricated from spun mild steel. Special flats within the drum help to ensure that each mix is thorough and of even consistency.

The drum bevel gear is of cast iron and the drum yoke of cast iron T- section. The transmission is by V- belt to the bevel pinion shaft. Alterna- tive power units include Briggs and Stratton air-cooled petrol engine and Petter AA or Lister LPI air-cooled diesel engines.

Offset Unit for Use with Cat Motor Graders

AN offset cable layer for use with Caterpillar 14 motor graders has been introduced by American Tractor Equipment Corporation. Oakland. California, USA.

Designated Model OCLR-T-14, it features a telescopic beam to offset the cable plow as much as 12 in. out- side the grader's rear wheel path for direct burial of cable in the shoulder of the road while the grader keeps all wheels on the pavement for better traction.

A separate pitch-adjusting cylinder controls cable tension in uneven ter- rain and enables the operator to main- tain a uniform plowing depth. The

The alternator, of the self-exciting. self-regulating type, has a 3 kva, out- put at either 230 or 110 V. single- phase, and is fitted with a continuous- ly-rated drip-proof enclosure. Mount- ed on top of it is the control box. incorporating an on-off switch. а voltage change-over switch. two rub- ber-covered 13 amp. fused plugs and sockets for power take-off.
