M$30M. MEDAN TUANKU PROJECT
HE rapid growth of Malaysia's
TH capital, Kuala Lumpur, is ex-
emplified by the large number of private development schemes that have sprung up during the last few years.
As the city expands the need for more shopping centres becomes greater to cater for the parallel growth in population, both local and tourist. Among the latest schemes aimed at at fulfilling this need is the M$30 million Medan Tuanku a living- cum-shopping centre to the built along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, one of the major shopping streets and thoroughfares of Kuala Lumpur.
The project is centrally located between the Mountbatten Road shop- ping area and the busy Jalan Ipoh roundabout. According to the deve- lopers the provision of shopping, com- mercial, residential and recreational facilities all within easy walking dis tance of one another will ensure that the precinct is in use night and day.
The whole scheme, to be built in several phases, will consist of 100 lots of three types of shop-house and three lots, varying in area, for larger developments such as department store, supermarket, bowling alley and offices.
