Mavor E10 excavator
theoretical output is 460 cu. yd. per hour; practical outputs are from 50 to 70 per cent of this.
The 30in. discharge conveyor is carried in a boom mounted on a separate slewing ring which operates independently of the main `frame slewing. This enables a constant dis- charge point to be maintained.

SCARIFIER
Manually-propelled Machine Embodies Pneumatic Drill
CAPABLE OF accurate surface skim- ming, and also of drilling and cutting to a depth of 6 in., the Dial-A-Mix concrete-dressing and routing ma- chine embodies a pneumatic rock drill, supported on a wheeled, heavy channel-section frame. Applications include skimming off road markings, non-slip treatment of floors and roads, and the repair and maintenance of industrial floors and road surfaces, as well as drilling and cutting out chan- nels and apertures, cat's-eyes, bolts and pipes.
The main carriage of the scarifier consists of an upright front plate, set at 90 deg. to the channel-section base, and measures 2 ft. 1 in. long by 1 ft.

IH 14 cu. yd. crawler loader
9 in. high by 10 in. wide. It runs on four 8 in, diameter rubber-tyred wheels. The drill is strapped to a vertically-sliding carriage inside the front plate: two threaded lugs on the carriage extend through a vertical slot in the plate, allowing the drill to be moved up and down by 3 in., for depth adjustment, and to be secured in position by two nuts.
Both the front and rear axles are raised above the wheel centres, and rotate in such a way as to allow either pair of wheels to move forward or back, thus altering the height of the frame to give a further 3 in. depth adjustment for drilling. This move- ment is controlled by a long upright lever attached to the rear axle, the movement of which is transmitted to the front axle by a two-bar linkage, and which can be locked in position by a pin.
Two lengths of 1 in. diameter heavy-gauge metal tubing form guide handles which are rubber clad at the extremities and supported by two similar struts joined to the rear of the frame. Secured to the left handle is a cylindrical oiler with a coupling for the air-supply hose. This ensures lubrication of the drill, to which it is connected by a short length of hose. The right-hand shaft carries a guide rail for the height-adjusting lever and accepts the locking pin to hold it in over a dozen different positions.

LOADER
1 cu. yd. Bucket and Breakout Force of 14,070 lb.
SALIENT features of a new 1 cu. yd. crawler loader introduced by In- ternational Harvester Company of Great Britain Ltd., Doncaster, UK, include double reduction, planetary, final drives, a new type of heavy duty mounting frame, wide track gauge and advanced control layout.
Known as the International 125 loader, the machine employs the 60 h.p. BD-281, a four cylinder, indirect injection diesel engine. Drive is taken from the engine through a 13 in. dia. single plate, overcentre clutch to a sliding gear type transmission which
gives four forward speeds of up to 4.66 m.p.h. and two reverse speeds of 1.68 and 2.75 m.p.h. respectively.
The frame has two rigid cross bars to transmit all stresses direct to the track frames, isolating the engine and transmission. The track gauge is 54 in., and the width of the triple bar grousers is 13 in. These features, combined with the 75% in. length of track, placed on the ground by the 5-roller frames, give a high degree of flotation, stability and traction. Break- out force is 14.070 lb.
The hydraulic system, which oper- ates at 1,500 p.s.i. is maintained by a front mounted gear type pump and is controlled by a three valve control block.

TRUCK
Off-Highway Vehicle with Power Shift Transmission
AN off-highway truck, the 769B, announced by Caterpillar Far East Ltd., has a capacity of 35 tons. It has a low body design and a new fibreglass cab.
Oil-cooled rear disc brakes are capable of holding the vehicle fully loaded on a 10 degree continuous grade at speeds of up to 15 m.p.h. Tyres may be 18.00-25 (32 PR) or 18.00-33 (24 PR).
Steering is hydraulically assisted. Flywheel horsepower of the Cat D343 engine is
is 415 h.p. Power shift transmission provides three automa- tically shifted speeds in each of three manually selected speed ranges. In- dependent pneumatic-oil suspension cylinders absorb road shocks.
The 769B's loading height is 116in. Access to the new fibreglass cab is by a ladder and catwalk arrangement. The ladder is mounted on the front bumper and the wide non-skid sur- faced walkway runs along the left fender. A rear-hinged left hand door gives easy cab entry.
