The hydraulic drive gives instant and positive change of direction and eliminates gearbox creep.

vibrator shaft mechanism is through a plate type clutch.
Travel drive is by drive chain, kept under constant tension by a patented rubber torsion arm mechanism which prevents vibrations from the roll reaching the rest of the machine. These arms also ensure shock free change of direction.

on the same side of the
machine enabling the opposite side of the roll to protrude and roll right up against vertical surfaces.

A NEW 11,000 gal. capacity water tanker trailing unit for use with Model B Tournapull prime movers is being produced by LeTourneau- Westinghouse Co., Peoria, Ill., USA.
A 1,300 g.p.m. pump, powered by the standard Tournapull electrical system, sprays water in 60 ft. swaths. Switches at the operator's seat allow him to operate the pump and either or both of the unit's two spray

The tanker connection requires no modifications of the prime mover and thus the unit can readily be inter- changed with other LW trailing units.

can be manoeuvred by one man. The jib boom with extension allows up to 7 ft. reach, at which position the maximum load is 550 lb.
Running on a thrust bearing, the unit can turn through 360 degrees and as the pump can turn through 130 degrees independently on lifting piston, operation is possible from the ground as well as the plat- form.
Lifting speed from height of plat- form to 112 in. over the platform is 25 seconds loaded or 30 seconds without load. The length of the lift- ing chain can be altered without tools and at its extreme position will place the hook 40 in. from its point of at- tachment.
