alcoves of teakwood with teak tables and rattan chairs stained tobac- co brown, and walls of old teak and natural hand-made Thai bricks of a reddish-brown.
An interesting decorative feature is the recessed niches in the walls and stairway from the lobby floor, contain- ing Thai antique carved figurines of musicians.
The lounge includes a bar counter to seat 12, a grand piano with built- in counter surround, a circular teak parquet dance floor and a raised band platform. Tai Ping carpeting in two- colour stripes is fitted.
The gaily decorated coffee shop on the ground floor is floored in white glazed ceramic tiles from Japan, Aqua colour Thai cotton printed fabric is used on the walls and as curtaining. while a heavyweight Thai cotton with ribbed seams is used to upholster the fixed seating.
Tables and chairs are of naturally oiled teakwood and teak is also used as column cladding and in narrow planks as a ceiling feature. The hanging lights are of pewter.
