Cover: Interior view of the new Cathedral of St. Joseph, Kuching, Sarawak, showing the high altar, choir gallery and ceiling treatment. Designed in a cruciform plan and shaped like a pyramid, the Cathedral can seat 1,000 people in full view of the altar. To accentuate the altar further as the Cathedral's focal point, it is lighted by high windows approximately 70 ft, over the altar. The spire was completed with local timbers such as belian shingles for the roof, meranti and resak for the ceiling and structural framing respectively. The main roof support is constructed in steel.
