TAI ON BUILDING SHAUKEIWAN
HE recently completed Tai On Building at Shaukeen is to date the largest venture by a Hong Kong private developer into the provision of jow cost housing for sale to its oc- cupants.
There are 1,884 flats in the 29- storey building, which occupies an entire block on the Shaukeiwan water- front of Hong Kong Island. Not surprisingly, the developers, Hong Kong Land Investment and Agency Co. Ltd., claim that it is the largest multi-owned residential building in the world and that its ground floor shopping centre is the largest in South East Asia.
