The water is drawn from a pump house about 1,600 ft. away. Temperature control will be fully automatic and the entire system consists of 26 York multizone air handling plants, two on each floor. The controls will be supplied by Honeywell.

Bread company to build HK$7 million plant

Garden Co. Ltd., bread and biscuit manufac- turers, have announced plans for the erection of a HK$7 million plant next to their existing premises at Tsun Wan, New Territories, Hong Kong. The building contract has been placed with Paul Y Construction Co. Ltd. and construction will take about one year.

Mr. James H. Kinoshita, of Palmer and Turner, has designed the new plant, the first stage of which will double the present production of 50,000 lb. of bread a day.

concrete, space frames, spanning 73ft. between opposite columns. These are made of precast tetrahedrons, with a side of 18ft, and a height of 6ft. each, and precast concrete struts of 9in. dia- meter, joined by a small amount of in situ concrete.

Building plans approved

Fifty-nine new building plans of all types on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and in the New Terri- tories, were approved by the Building Authority in May.

During the same period, 35 newly-completed buildings were certified for occupation. Among these, 26 were for combined domestic and non- domestic use, eight for non-domestic purposes and one for domestic purposes.

Watson's Estate enters final stage

The final stage of the HK$33 million industrial and commercial property development at Watson's Estate, North Point, Hong Kong, is now under way and will be completed by the end of 1970.

A contract for the construction of B block, the largest of the three buildings making up the com-

plex, was signed last month between A.S. Watson & Co. Ltd. and contractors, Sung Foo Kee Ltd.

low the same architectural lines as the two sister buildings on the estate. The new building will add nearly 500,000 sq. ft. of flatted factory and office accommodation to the 310,000 sq. ft. contained in A and C Blocks.

A feature of the new B Block will be an entire floor of car parking space, sufficient to cater for the requirements of tentants in all three blocks. Eight Otis collective elevators will provide access to upper floors in the building.

The estate is designed by Harrimans Architects.

Expansion plan for Bangkok Airport

Thai Civil Aviation Department has announced plans for expanding the international airport at Bangkok.

The Government has alloted 145 million baht (US$21 million) to build three taxi-ways, a four- storey air-conditioned passenger terminal and an air cargo office and warehouse. Incoming and out- going passenger lounges will be on different floors and a restaurant will be located on the top floor.

A 600-car two-storey car park will also be built. All the construction work is scheduled to be com- pleted in 18 months.

More Crown land for auction

Twenty-six lots of Crown land throughout Hong Kong, totalling more than 424,000 sq. ft., will be offered for sale in July, August and September. Twenty-one lots are for industrial/godown pur- poses, four for residential or non-industrial use and one for a multi-storey car park at Dundas Street in Mongkok.

A Philippine corporation, Monorail Transit Sys- tem Inc., has announced plans for the construction of a US$125 million monorail system around the
