KUALA LUMPUR

MALAYSIAN BROADCASTING CENTRE

Project viewed from Federal Highway

N its final form the Malaysian Broadcasting Centre in Kuala Lumpur will be the largest of its kind in South East Asia and one of the most modern in the world, It will comprise a complex of six buildings, integrating on one site all the ad- ministrative, technical and pro- gramming facilities for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Television Malaysia and Radio Malaysia.

The site is mid-way between Kuala Lumpur and Petaling Jaya and is unequalled in Malaysia for its shape and dominant position. Covering about 33 acres, it sits 80ft. above the Federal Highway overlooking the Pantai Valley.

In order to create sufficient flat area for buildings, the original hill top was levelled in two stages and the spoil used to fill a 35 ft. deep ravine which ran through the back of the property.
