Blades stop when handle in released
PRODUCTION of a new 29 in. dia- meter trowelling machine, model G- 29F, is announced by Stow Manufac- turing Co., 627 Shear Street, Bing- hampton, New York, USA. It has a 3 h.p. Briggs and Stratton engine and blade supports the same size as larger 34 in. machines.
A sliding sleeve type clutch stops the instant the operator releases the

handle, but does not kill the engine. This feature allows the machine to be started at any throttle position. A sturdy stationary guard ring allows the operator to work right up to walls and other obstacles with safety.
A handle-mounted blade pitch con- trol knob permits the operator to ad- just the pitch of the blades while the machine is in operation.

20-ton vehicle powered by 230 h.p. diesel
THE Construction Equipment Divi- sion of Westinghouse Air Brake Co., Peoria, Ill., USA, has brought out a new heavy duty motor grader, the model 888. It weighs more than 20 tons, has a low silhouette frame, low mounted control levers, front-mounted lift gear housings and hidden but easily accessible hydraulic lines.
Having a smooth, hydrauliically operated control system, the 888 is powered by a high torque 230 h.p. Detroit diesel V8-71 engine. It is fitted with a four-speed, power-shift, constant-mesh transmission, torque converter, and tail-shaft governor
evenly. A
rocker - type peda! lets the operator change from forward to reverse travel with- out hand-shifting. Speeds range from 3.3 to 25 m.p.h.
A full-reversing 13 ft. by 32 in. mouldboard is en- gineered
to roll
extra large blade Model 888 motor grader loads. The inch-
thick grader blades are available in 13, 14 and 16 ft. lengths. Shoulder reach outside right and left wheels is 7 ft. 8 in.

8 ton forward control model from Mercedes-Benz
A LOW loading platform, roomy driver's cab for three people, under- seat engine position, and a small turn- ing circle are features of the Mercedes- Benz LP 808, a new light forward control truck with
a gross vehicle weight of 7.49 or 8 tons.
A torsion bar stabiliser on the front axle and standard shock absorbers mounted on the front and rear axles
give the vehicle excellent road hold- ing and a high degree of driving com- fort. The driver's cab is mounted on two rubber pads in the front and at the rear it is mounted by a one-leaf spring and two hydraulic shock ab- sorbers to the frame.
The 3.78 litre four cylinder OM 314 diesel engine gives 90 h.p. at 2,800 r.p.m., and the gearbox is a five-speed synchronised unit.

MASTER Builders, Clevesand, Ohio, USA, have announced a new product, Confilm, which reduces evaporation from plastic concrete surfaces by up to 80 per cent. It is sprayed on im- mediately after screeding to produce a barrier to evaporation that minimises many hot weather finishing problems.
